Also, we activate the electrodes by using Precious Mixed Metal Oxides of Ruthenium, Iridium, Platinum and Palladium, etc.

Chlorine (Cl2) and Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) are the most produced chemicals by electrolysis in Chlor-Alkali industries. It involves the electrolysis of sodium chloride solution (brine) producing chlorine gas at the anode and sodium hydroxide at the cathode.

In the last 30 years many improvements were made in the Chlor-Alkali process. There are two main milestones that revolutionized this process, the development of Titanium anodes and the changeover of the diaphragm & mercury cell technologies to membrane cell technology. Recent days, the membrane cell process is the most used technology in the world.
