Dimensionally Stable Anode and Cathode (Titanium, Nickel & Steel)

INFORMATION ABOUT ELECTRODE AND COATING

The electrode is shown as having a simple rectangular shape, but it will be understood that the electrode is not limited to such a configuration, but may have any configuration suitable for the electrolysis apparatus in which the electrode is to be used. Furthermore... [More]

ELECTROLYTIC CELL

It's provides a compact electrolytic cell which is capable of operating in a continuous manner, at high current efficiency, over extended periods of time. This cell has a relatively low operating cost due, in part, to the prolonged life of the electrodes.... [More]

MMO ANODE [ MIXED METAL OXIDE]

Mixed Metal Oxide anodes consist of a high purity titanium substrate with an applied coating consisting of a mixture of platinum group metal oxides. [More]

ANODES

Anodes Platinized Titanium anodes take advantage of the low consumption rate and high current density. Voltages in excess of 10 Volts will result in severe pitting of the titanium core causing premature failure. Platinized Niobium / Tantalum anodes also take advantage of the properties of platinum, but avoid the low driving voltage restriction of Platinized titanium anodes. Breakdown of the niobium oxide film occurs at approximately 120 Volts. Thus these anodes are used where high driving voltage is required. Platinized anodes are quite expensive but have an extremely long life. They are therefore an economical choice for critical applications.   Mixed Metal Oxide anodes consist of a high purity titanium substrate with an applied coating consisting of a mixture of plat... PLATINUM PLATED TITANIUM ANODE AND MANUFACTURE

The platinum surface is preferably deposited by an electroplating operation whereby a thin fixed coating of platinum covers the entire surface of the unit. The electrodeposition may be carried out, for example, by using a bath consisting of 4.5 grams of platinic chloride and 22 milliliters of 37% hydrochloric acid dissolved in 2800.... [More]

ELECTROLYSIS AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

In carrying out the electrolysis of an electrolyte, such as brine, to produce chlorine and caustic, the improved metallic anode of the present invention may be used in any [More]

REFURBISHMENT / RECOATING

Refurbishment include recoating, rebuilding the standoff and / or replacement, depending on the condition of the Electrolyzers. Refurbishment time is only 2-4 weeks. Low current output, damaged standoffs, leaking seals or damaged mounting threads are the symptoms of refurbishment. [More]

ELECTROLYSIS WITH IMPROVED PLATINUM PLATED TITANIUM ANODE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

DESCRIPTION: The electrolysis of a solution of an alkaline chloride, such as brine (NaCl), has been widely utilized as a method for producing chlorine and caustic. The sodium ion travels to the cathode during the process, such that sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrogen gas are produced at the cathode. The chlorine ion travels to the anode and gaseous chlorine is evolved, although a small portion of the gaseous material may become dissolved in the brine solution. Brine may be continuously supplied to a chamber or cell at the zone of the anode and caustic may be continuously withdrawn from the cell at the zone of the cathode. At the same time gaseous chlorine and hydrogen may be separately withdrawn overhead from the cell. In modified cells which employ mercury, the mercury acts as a cathode ... [More]
